Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant Role

We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic teaching assistant to join our team and provide vital support to children with SEND/SEMH needs.

Salary

The salary for this role is £105-£110 per day, paid term-time only.

Job Description

This challenging yet rewarding opportunity is based in an Outstanding Secondary school in Islington, where you will work closely with teachers, therapists, and other support staff to provide tailored support to children with SEND/SEMH needs.

  • Provide support to class teachers within the classroom
  • Assist children with SEND/SEMH needs 1:1 and in small groups
  • Work closely with 2 non-verbal children
  • Support pupils in and out of lessons
  • Monitor and record interventions

You will have the opportunity to develop your skills in teaching, educational therapy, and mental health support, while contributing to a dynamic and supportive learning environment.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A strong academic background and a passion for working with children
  • Previous experience working with children and SEN/SEMH needs
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Experience working with non-verbal children
  • Previous experience working 1:1
  • Resilience and ability to overcome challenges
