Job Summary:

FLIR Systems, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled DevOps Engineer to join our team. As a DevOps Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining Python Flask applications that handle engineering change data. These applications process, validate, and record engineering changes to PDM databases.

The input data comes from Solidworks and Altium design tools, is stored and processed in MongoDB data collections, and manages the transfer of design data to storage. The user interface and REST APIs are designed around the Python Flask framework and deployed to self-hosted Docker orchestrations using Docker Compose.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead the development and maintenance of Python Flask applications
  2. Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the Engineering Change infrastructure
  3. Administer MongoDB databases
  4. Design and implement data architecture for the Engineering data domain
  5. Deliver training on the systems developed

Requirements:

  1. Degree or higher with significant software component
  2. Knowledge of NoSQL databases, preferably MongoDB
  3. Competent with JavaScript, C#, Flask, and REST APIs
  4. Familiarity with containerization: Docker and Docker Compose
  5. Desirable: exposure to mechanical and/or hardware design concepts
  6. Desirable: knowledge of Kubernetes
