Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality English lessons that cater to the needs of students across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5. You will work collaboratively with colleagues to develop a comprehensive English curriculum that promotes critical thinking, creativity, and effective communication.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver engaging and differentiated English lessons that inspire a love of literature and language.
  • Contribute to the planning and delivery of a dynamic English curriculum that encompasses a range of literary genres, writing styles, and critical thinking skills.
  • Cultivate students' reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills to equip them with effective communication and critical thinking tools.
  • Play an active role in the pastoral care of students, supporting their wellbeing and personal development.
Requirements
  • A qualified teacher with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a genuine passion for English education.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of English literature, language, and grammar.
  • Employ innovative teaching methods to inspire and motivate students of all abilities.
  • Work effectively within a team and contribute to the overall success of the English department.
