Job Description

Renishaw is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Raman spectroscopy specialist to join our UK applications team. As a key member of our team, you will have the opportunity to grow your knowledge of Raman spectroscopy and its applications with industry-leading experts.

This is an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated individual with good communication skills and the ability to use their initiative and knowledge to identify and solve challenges faced by our customers. You will work closely with a diverse team of specialists from different scientific disciplines, focusing on technical sales support, scientific instrument and application development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the sales team by demonstrating the capabilities and performance of Renishaw's Raman instrumentation on a range of customer samples.
  • Discovering and developing new applications of Raman spectroscopy, presenting results at international conferences.
  • Training customers on the use of Raman spectroscopy and its applications.
  • Providing scientific content for marketing literature, including videos, webinars, and written literature.
  • Working with our design teams to develop innovative Raman instrumentation.

Requirements:

  • Degree or PhD in a science-related discipline.
  • Practical experience conducting Raman spectroscopy and data analysis.
  • An interest in promoting Raman spectroscopy to a global audience.
  • High level of computer literacy, including Microsoft Office software suite.
  • Full, valid passport and an interest in travelling internationally up to 4 weeks a year.
  • Full UK driving licence.

Desirable Requirements:

  • Experience in scientific instrument sales process.
  • Knowledge of scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and/or atomic force microscopy (AFM).

Person Specification:

The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, organised, and have an attention to detail in their work. They must be able to multi-task, prioritise, and deliver to deadlines. The individual will be personable and a good communicator, both verbally and in writing, and be able to work with others from different countries and cultures.
