As a Consultant Psychiatrist Early Intervention, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care to patients with mental health conditions. Your duties will include:
- Undertaking administrative duties associated with patient care
- Participating in service and business planning activities
- Attending and participating in academic programs
- Maintaining professional registration and approval
To be successful in this role, you will need to have:
- A medical degree (MB BS or equivalent)
- A qualification or higher degree in medical education, clinical research, or management
- Approved clinician status or the ability to achieve it within 3 months
- Approved under Section 12(2) of the Mental Health Act or the ability to achieve it within 3 months
- Good standing with the GMC
You will need to hold a valid UK driving license or provide evidence of an alternative.Academic Skills & Lifelong Learning
You will need to have:
- Participated in continuous professional development
- Actively participated in clinical audit
- Able to deliver undergraduate or postgraduate teaching and training
- Participated in research or service evaluation
- Able to use and appraise clinical evidence
- Experienced in clinical research and/or service evaluation
You will need to have:
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
- Excellent knowledge in the specialty
- Excellent clinical skills using a bio-psycho-social perspective and wide medical knowledge
- Able to manage clinical complexity and uncertainty
- Makes decisions based on evidence and experience, including the contribution of others
- Able to meet duties under the Mental Health Act and the Mental Capacity Act
- Experience of working in Early Intervention in Psychosis services
- A wide range of specialist and sub-specialist experience relevant to the post within the NHS or comparable services
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975, and as such, it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
