Deputy Store Manager Job Description

At Northampton Business Directory, we're looking for a skilled and motivated Deputy Store Manager to join our team. As a Deputy Store Manager, you'll play a key role in supporting the Store Manager and leading the team to deliver exceptional customer service and achieve business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Lead by Example: Set a high standard for the team and customers, demonstrating excellent customer service skills and a positive attitude.
  2. Store Management: Independently manage the store in the absence of the Store Manager, taking ownership of the store and leading the team to achieve sales targets and operational excellence.
  3. Team Development: Lead and inspire the team to fulfill their potential every day, using our Leadership & Company Principles to drive performance and engagement.
  4. Operations: Diligently check and work deliveries, manage the till area, and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure the store runs smoothly and efficiently.
  5. Customer Service: Be a friendly face for every customer, offering excellent service and helping with all customer queries to ensure a positive shopping experience.
  6. Health and Safety: Competently comply with Health and Safety laws, standards, and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for all employees and customers.
Requirements:
  1. Leadership Experience: Proven experience leading and developing a team in a challenging, fast-paced environment.
  2. Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills to help colleagues and customers in a friendly and open way.
  3. Time Management: A knack for time management, delegation, and problem-solving to prioritize tasks and achieve goals.
  4. Team Support: The confidence to support the team through every shift, providing guidance and encouragement to ensure success.
  5. Customer Focus: A pride in providing unmatched customer service for everyone who shops with us, ensuring a positive shopping experience.
  6. KPI Management: The ability to monitor, manage, and improve KPIs to drive business performance and growth.
