We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant to join our team at Wakefield Council. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with severe learning difficulties and associated needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide individualized support to students with severe learning difficulties and associated needs
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement personalized learning plans
  • Assist with lesson planning and delivery to ensure inclusive education
  • Support students with daily living skills, such as personal care and mobility
  • Contribute to a positive and inclusive learning environment

Requirements

  • Minimum relevant NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in special needs/support work in schools
  • Minimum Level 2 Mathematics & English
  • Understanding of or willingness to develop relevant Safeguarding knowledge
