Associate Planning Director

We are seeking an experienced Associate Planning Director to join our dynamic and proactive internal planning consultancy based in our Head Office in Ringwood. As a key member of our team, you will play a pivotal role in our national growth drive strategies.
Key Responsibilities- Assess new sites for development potential and collaborate with local authorities to identify planning constraints.
- Liaise with our Design team to ensure the best approach is delivered for each scheme.
- Attend initial planning meetings and prepare planning applications, including research and submission.
- Monitor planning applications, proactively addressing any questions or queries.
- Coordinate, prepare, and submit applications for discharge of conditions.
- Support the business in managing any appeals, including attending hearings.
We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Associate Planning Director with a thorough understanding of Planning Policies, procedures, and law. A PQE in public or private practice is essential, and knowledge of affordable housing policies and law is desirable. You must be a member of MRTPI and ideally hold a Degree/Diploma in Town Planning.
You will have proven negotiation, communication, and influencing skills, with the ability to liaise with a wide range of external contacts to resolve issues. You will enjoy managing your own case load, while also working as part of a close-knit team that provides support, advice, and guidance to one another.
