Financial Controller for Manufacturing Firm

A leading family-run manufacturing firm in Sudbury is seeking an experienced part-time bookkeeper to manage all aspects of the company's financial transactions.
- Process accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payments and accurate record-keeping.
- Reconcile bank statements on a regular basis, identifying any discrepancies or errors.
- Review bank accounts and cash flow reports, providing management with valuable insights and recommendations.
- Credit control management, including due diligence for new customers and suppliers, to ensure smooth payment processes.
- Prepare monthly payroll, submitting information to HMRC and Pension Company as required.
- Conduct a monthly stock take to maintain accurate inventory levels.
- Produce financial statements and reports from bespoke accounting software, providing management with critical information to inform business decisions.
- Complete and reconcile VAT and Plastic Packaging Tax returns and payments, adhering to regulatory requirements.
We are looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented individual with excellent IT skills and proficient Sage experience. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles and regulations, as well as the ability to analyze financial data and extract meaningful insights.
- Minimum 2 years' experience as an Accountant or similar role in a manufacturing environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with the management team and other stakeholders.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
- Highly efficient and able to meet deadlines, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Competitive salary up to £35,000 per annum, depending on experience.
