Job Overview

The Estates Department at University Hospitals Dorset provides a comprehensive maintenance, repair, and installation service for buildings, grounds, engineering services, and associated equipment throughout the Trust.

Main Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance, fault finding, test, and repair work on a wide range of complex engineering services and equipment.
  • Work unassisted in varying, often technical environments while complying with Health & Safety/ environmental regulations and standards.
  • Participate in an on-call rota outside of normal working hours.
  • Hold a current UK driving license and reside within a reasonable travel time to fulfill on-call duties.

Requirements

  • HNC in Building Services plus specialist training and experience to graduate level, or equivalent gained through a relevant apprenticeship.
  • Authorised/Responsible and/or Competent Person in one or more of the following specialisms: LV Electrical Systems, HV Electrical Systems, Heating and Ventilation Systems, Decontamination Safe Water Systems, Medical Gas Pipeline Systems (MGPS), Confined Spaces.
  • Extensive knowledge of electrical and/or mechanical and/or plumbing systems in NHS premises.
  • In-depth knowledge of all relevant legislation and technical guidance.
  • In-depth knowledge of all relevant Health Technical Memorandum's (HTM's).
