About Us:

Fresh Recruit is a dynamic company that requires a skilled AAT finance assistant to join its team. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for managing purchase and sales ledgers, performing bank reconciliations, and providing support to the finance team.

Responsibilities:

  • Accurately record supplier invoices in the purchase ledger and manage aged debt through timely communication with customers.
  • Monitor cashless payment units and reset those not recently used to ensure efficient transactions.
  • Match bank receipts and payments to Sage invoices for accurate reconciliations.
  • Provide holiday cover for the Finance Accounts Manager and assist with various administrative tasks as required.
  • Regularly review and correct meter movements in the VMGR system to maintain quality control.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Identify and escalate any discrepancies in the 'Cashcal' report to ensure prompt action.
  • Assist the Finance Accounts Manager with additional tasks as needed to ensure smooth operations.
  • Count monies using a counting machine for accurate cash handling.
  • Place wholesale orders via the system for customers to meet their needs efficiently.

Requirements:

  • Excellent communication skills, including friendly phone and email etiquette to interact with customers and colleagues.
  • Strong numerical abilities, including proficiency in Excel and pivot tables to analyze data effectively.
  • Proficiency in accounting software, including Sage Line 50 Accounts and Sage Payroll, to perform tasks efficiently.

Working Conditions:

  • Monday to Friday working hours: 9am – 4.30pm or 8.30am – 4pm.

Remuneration:

  • An estimated salary of £25,000 - £35,000 per annum.
