Autism Learning Support Professional

We are seeking an experienced learning support professional to join our team at Academics Ltd, supporting a non-verbal child with autism in a welcoming school environment in the Southend-on-Sea area.
This rewarding role offers the opportunity to make a real difference in a child's life, providing individualised support and promoting their learning and personal development.
About the Role:
- You will provide one-to-one support to a non-verbal child with autism in the classroom, creating a positive learning environment and tailoring your support to meet their individual needs.
- Collaborating with the class teacher, you will develop and implement individualised learning plans, ensuring the child receives the support they require to succeed.
- Your expertise in communication strategies and ability to engage children in learning activities will be invaluable in this role.
- You will promote the child's social, emotional, and personal development, working closely with the class teacher to ensure a cohesive approach.
Requirements:
- A minimum of 1 year of experience working with children with autism and special educational needs is required.
- An understanding of non-verbal communication techniques is beneficial but not essential.
- You must possess patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children with SEND.
- A proactive and flexible approach to work is essential in this dynamic and fast-paced environment.
- Experience in a classroom setting is necessary, as you will be working closely with the class teacher and other staff members.
