Location: Waterlooville

Job Type: Full-time, Temporary to Permanent

About the Role:

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our special needs Primary school in Waterlooville. The successful candidate will work with children aged 5-11 who have social, emotional and mental health difficulties as well as other complex needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with small groups of KS1 and 2 children through targeted interventions to ensure all students reach their full potential.
  • Build safe and secure relationships with pupils to foster a sense of belonging.
  • Create a nurturing and inclusive environment where each child can thrive and flourish.
  • Support children with 1:1 reading.
  • Support children with strategies and support to regulate their emotions effectively.
  • Support teachers in assessing student progress and providing informative feedback to pupils.
  • Safeguarding will be your number one priority, ensuring the welfare of the children.

Requirements:

  • Have the right to work in the UK.
  • Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years.
  • Have a DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education.
