About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Inventory Accountant to join our team at Card Factory. As a key player in our wider finance team, you will support the Finance Manager with inventory reporting, stocktake planning, reconciliation, and valuation of approx. £50m+ of inventory.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform monthly inventory reconciliation to the General Ledger.
  • Coordinate interim and year-end DC stocktakes.
  • Ensure compliance with all external audit requirements.
  • Serve as the SAP super-user for Inventory, including identifying and resolving system issues, and managing GR/IR accounts.
  • Monitor Moving Average Prices (MAP) and investigate discrepancies outside of agreed tolerances.
  • Manage store stocktakes, including year-end, interim, seasonal, and ad hoc counts.
  • Review stock provision policy and its impact on the P&L.
  • Identify inventory balance sheet risks and opportunities.
  • Support the upskilling and development of Inventory Assistants.
  • Perform additional ad hoc tasks as required by the Finance Manager - Inventory and Head of Management Accounting.

About You

We are looking for an outstanding candidate who holds professional qualifications and has strong post-qualified experience in a similar role. You will have relevant accountancy qualifications, such as CIMA, ACCA, or ICAEW, and post-qualified experience in a large retail environment.
