Health Inequalities Specialist

Devon Training Hub is seeking a skilled General Practitioner to join their team as a Health Inequalities Fellow. This is a unique opportunity to work closely with Public Health Devon to develop and support fellowships that address health inequalities in the region.
Key Responsibilities- Apply a systems thinking approach to identify and work with key stakeholders in the locality, including Primary Care Networks and the voluntary sector.
- Liaise with the Clinical Leadership Team at Devon Training Hub to ensure good exchange of plans, ideas, and information.
- Attend local peer learning groups and action learning sets, and participate in the national education program relating to health inequalities.
- Work with multi-professional members of the PCN team to support their understanding of health inequalities and their role in reducing them.
- Identify issues at PCN level pertaining to health inequalities and develop a quality improvement project to address this.
- Write up and present your project in line with agreed guidelines from the Devon Training Hub.
- Agree an educational professional development plan with the Devon Training Hub Clinical Leadership Team, identifying your own learning needs and areas you might like to upskill.
- Participate in and support the delivery of health inequality-related events in Devon.
- Disseminate learning about how to reduce health inequalities across the Primary Care Network and regionally where appropriate.
- General practitioner with MRCGP.
- Understanding of Primary Care in England and its interface with secondary care.
- Understanding of current primary health care general issues.
- Proven experience of regularly working as a clinician in general practice, after completion of vocational training, with current full registration with the GMC.
- Current clinical commitment of not less than 3 sessions a week.
- Participated in formal training programs in general practice.
