About the Role

Renfrewshire Council is seeking a skilled and dedicated individual to fill the position of Care Home Housekeeper. As a key member of our housekeeping team, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene of all areas within the care home environment.

This role requires flexibility and adaptability, as it involves a variable hours contract over 52 weeks. You will be responsible for managing the laundry process, performing tasks related to food preparation, cooking, and presentation, and maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene of all areas within the care home environment.

Main Responsibilities:
  1. Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the care home environment.
  2. Manage the laundry process, including washing, drying, and ironing.
  3. Prepare meals and snacks for residents, maintain kitchen cleanliness, and manage food stock effectively.

The successful candidate will have experience working within catering, cleaning, and laundry services, with a strong awareness of current hygiene practices. A desirable qualification would be SVQ (or equivalent) in Catering, SVQ (or equivalent) in Cleaning, or an elementary food hygiene certificate.

Requirements:
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with residents, staff, and external partners.
  • Ability to work flexibly and adapt to changing situations.

Salary Information:

The estimated salary for this role is £28,000 - £32,000 per annum, dependent on experience.
