Join the Transformation Unit as a Patient Safety Partner and play a vital role in improving patient safety across Nottingham and Nottinghamshire.
About the RoleThe Patient Safety Partner will collaborate with staff, volunteers, patients, and families to enhance safety within our commissioned services. This innovative role will contribute to patient safety governance and quality governance, embodying and promoting the ICB's values and behaviours.
Key Responsibilities- Engage in key discussions and meetings within the ICB to focus on patient safety.
- Participate in patient safety meetings and committees, either in person or online.
- Co-design patient safety initiatives and contribute to their development.
The Patient Safety Partner will use their lived health experience and knowledge to:
- Participate in safety governance committees, ensuring patient, carer, and family perspectives are considered and prioritized.
- Support compliance monitoring and addressing safety issues.
- Support the development of strategies and policies.
- Attend support meetings and training events.
- Support clinical audits related to patient safety when required.
- Ability to communicate effectively in writing and reading comprehensive reports.
- Confidence to communicate verbally with senior leaders about strategic issues, advocating for patient safety.
- Understanding of and interest in patient safety or willingness to learn.
- Ability to provide a patient perspective and advocate for the wider community.
