About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Shift Leader to join our team at Tesco. As a Shift Leader, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the store, ensuring that customers receive excellent service, and leading a team of colleagues to achieve sales and customer satisfaction targets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and motivate a team of colleagues to deliver excellent customer service and achieve sales targets
  • Oversee the daily operations of the store, including opening and closing procedures, stock management, and visual merchandising
  • Ensure that customers receive excellent service, including responding to customer queries and resolving any issues
  • Work closely with the store management team to achieve sales and customer satisfaction targets
  • Develop and implement plans to improve customer service and sales performance
  • Monitor and control store expenses, including labor costs, stock levels, and waste management
  • Ensure that the store is maintained to a high standard, including cleaning, maintenance, and repairs
  • Recruit, train, and develop colleagues to ensure that they have the skills and knowledge required to perform their roles effectively
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide feedback to colleagues to help them improve their performance
  • Identify and address any issues or concerns that may impact customer service or sales performance
Requirements
  • Previous experience in a retail or customer-facing role, preferably in a leadership or supervisory capacity
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead and motivate a team
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to work flexibly, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays
  • Basic mathematical skills, with the ability to handle cash and operate a till
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a high level of customer contact
  • Basic IT skills, with the ability to use a range of software applications, including Microsoft Office
