Ecological Consultant

We are seeking a highly skilled Ecological Consultant to join our team at Arcadis Human Resources Limited. As a key member of our Environmental team, you will play a crucial role in improving quality of life by delivering sustainable solutions for a more prosperous planet.
Key Responsibilities- Undertake and assist on ecological surveys to identify and assess the environmental impact of construction and development projects.
- Produce Preliminary Ecological Appraisals (PEAs) and contribute to the production of other ecological reports, such as Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs) and biodiversity net gain reports.
- Develop and implement mitigation and monitoring strategies to minimize the environmental impact of projects.
- Collaborate with statutory authorities and other stakeholders to ensure compliance with environmental legislation and policy.
- Participate in training and professional development to stay up-to-date with best practices and survey standards.
- Experience in writing PEAs and contributing to the production of other ecological reports.
- Understanding of and application of environmental legislation, policy, and guidance.
- Ability to identify and classify a range of commonly found taxa/species associated with recognized broad habitat types.
- Capacity to undertake extended Phase 1 habitat surveys.
- Survey license for one or more species (ideally).
- Responsibility for ensuring own adherence to biosecurity and health and safety protocols.
- Relevant degree (ideally secondary degree or accreditation).
- Membership of CIEEM at the appropriate level.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to travel when necessary.
