About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Ecological Consultant to join our team at CleanTech Talent. As an Ecological Consultant, you will be responsible for leading your own projects and working with our clients to deliver high-quality ecological services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conducting a variety of ecological surveys, including protected species surveys and habitat assessments, to identify and mitigate potential environmental impacts.
  • Preparing comprehensive ecological reports, such as Ecological Impact Assessments (EcIA) and Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) assessments, to inform decision-making and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Collaborating with our landscape planning and arboriculture teams to deliver integrated project solutions that meet our clients' needs.
  • Supporting the preparation of Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) and planning applications, ensuring that all necessary permits and approvals are obtained.
  • Liaising with clients, regulators, and stakeholders to ensure smooth project delivery and excellent customer service.
Requirements
  • A degree in Ecology, Environmental Science, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in ecological consultancy or equivalent experience.
  • Strong knowledge of UK wildlife legislation and planning policies.
  • Proven experience in conducting and leading a variety of ecological surveys.
  • Working knowledge of UKHab survey techniques and Statutory BNG.
  • Desired experience using GIS to produce highly accurate digital outputs (QGIS).
  • Excellent report-writing skills with attention to detail.
  • Membership of the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM) or working towards it.
  • A full UK driving license and willingness to travel to project sites.
