We are seeking a highly skilled Environmental Sustainability Specialist to join our team, based in Mansfield, UK.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in environmental science and policy, with a passion for sustainability and environmental protection.
As an Environmental Sustainability Specialist, you will be responsible for providing technical support and advice on environmental assessment and management related projects, particularly focusing on the Water and Abandoned Metal Mines (WAMM) Programme.
You will lead on the environmental assessment of projects, ensuring that appropriate ecological and other environmental data is collected and utilised during all stages of project development and delivery.
You will act as the first point of contact for WAMM Project Managers on matters relating to ecological and other environmental management, protection, and improvement.
You will assist with the implementation of measures from the Coal Authority's Sustainability and Nature Recovery Plans into the operation and maintenance of pollution prevention schemes, working closely with the Sustainability, Nature Recovery, and Environmental Management System managers.
We offer a competitive salary of £50,000 - £60,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus benefits including a cutting-edge pension scheme, flexible working arrangements, and a generous holiday allowance.
