About the RoleThe successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the care and welfare of each child in the home, while also facilitating their individual developmental needs. You will plan and prepare activities that stimulate their learning and integration within the home. Additionally, you will maintain accurate records of their progress, achievements, and behaviour, producing a life book for any young person with key working responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the care and welfare of each child in the home, prioritizing their individual developmental needs.
- Plan and prepare engaging activities that promote learning and integration within the home.
- Maintain accurate records of young people's progress, achievements, and behaviour, including producing life books for those with key working responsibilities.
- Work collaboratively with local authorities and placing authorities to ensure outstanding care for the young people.
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with parents/carers, promoting young people's learning and development.
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- Prior experience working with teenage boys or challenging behaviour.
- A driving licence and access to a vehicle, as public transport is not viable due to the rural location.
- A Residential Childcare/Families Practitioner Diploma/Children and Young People's Workforce/NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (or equivalent) or a willingness to work towards a required qualification.
- Flexibility with working hours, including shift work, with every other weekend off.
- The ability to challenge unacceptable behaviour, provide firm boundaries, and offer nurturing care that meets individual needs.
We offer a competitive salary package, including:
- An estimated £28,621.56 base salary, with potential earnings up to £30,301.56 with sleep-in shifts.
- A generous benefits package, including company pension, access to wellbeing programmes, and promotion opportunities.
