Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Night Care and Welfare Professional to lead our residential childcare team in Guilford, Surrey.

The successful candidate will work with young males aged 13-18, planning activities, ensuring care and welfare, and building supportive relationships.

About the Role:

  • Lead Care and Welfare: Ensure the well-being of each child in the home.
  • Plan and Prepare Activities: Meet the young people’s needs, stimulate learning and integration.
  • Legislation and Guidelines: Stay informed of legislation, guidelines, policies to meet the Children’s Act, Children’s homes regulations and the national minimum standards.
  • Support Team Members: Ensure all staff comply with policies, procedures and risk assessments.
  • Progress and Records: Observe, assess and record young people’s progress and achievements.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work with local authorities, parents/carers to ensure outstanding care.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Experience and Qualifications: Previous experience with teenage boys, challenging behaviour and a Residential Childcare/Families Practitioner Diploma or equivalent.
  • Driving Licence: Hold a driving licence and have access to a vehicle, as public transport is not viable due to the rural location.
  • Flexibility: Be willing to work a shift pattern, including evenings and weekends, with every other weekend off.
