Job Overview: We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Product Development Specialist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a degree in Food Science, preferably with a placement year during their degree. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to develop your skills in product development and contribute to the creation of innovative food products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the product development team in the creation of new food products from concept to launch.
  • Conduct market research on consumer preferences, competitor products, and industry trends to support product development.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, quality assurance, and production, to ensure successful product launches.
  • Prepare product formulations, prototypes, and samples for internal and external evaluation.
  • Assist in the management of product specifications, documentation, and compliance with relevant food safety and quality standards.
  • Support the coordination of sensory evaluations and product trials.
  • Monitor project timelines and ensure key milestones are met.
  • Provide administrative support to the product development team, including data entry, report preparation, and meeting coordination.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • A degree in Food Science or a related discipline is essential.
  • A placement year or relevant experience in the food and beverage industry, particularly in product development, is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of food safety, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Passion for innovation and a proactive approach to product development.
