Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Radiology Physicist to join our team at East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will provide specialized scientific, technical, and regulatory expertise to support the Trust’s diagnostic radiology services.

About the Role

The Radiology Physicist will work closely with the Radiology Physics Team Lead to provide a safe, efficient, and effective service. This includes operating with a high level of autonomy, planning and managing their own workload, and adapting to emerging urgent requests.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide specialized scientific, technical, and regulatory expertise to support diagnostic radiology services.
  • Work with the Radiology Physics Team Lead to provide a safe, efficient, and effective service.
  • Plan and manage their own workload and projects, prioritizing work appropriately and adapting to emerging urgent requests.
  • Support the development of staff to achieve and maintain competence and work towards accreditation in statutory roles.
  • Initiate and participate in research and development activities.
Requirements
  • Honours degree in a relevant subject.
  • Extensive experience working in the field of diagnostic radiology physics and radiation protection.
  • Highly developed manual dexterity and the ability to make accurate, precise measurements using sophisticated testing equipment.
Person Specification
  • Reliable, punctual, and flexible.
  • Ability to lift medium/heavy test equipment occasionally, greater than 10kg.
  • Hold a valid UK driving licence.
