Public Relations Officer

About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced PR Officer to join our team at the British Motor Industry Heritage Trust. As a key member of our communications team, you will play a vital role in developing and implementing our PR strategy, identifying and telling the stories of Britain's automotive heritage, our Museum, collections, work, and team.
Main Responsibilities
- Lead on all media-related work, including crafting and circulating timely and engaging press releases, building and maintaining relationships with key media contacts and sector influencers, and securing positive media coverage.
- Develop and implement an annual PR plan, identifying story opportunities and maximising coverage.
- Manage media enquiries, produce press releases, and contribute to social media for business.
- Actively seek out new PR opportunities and secure positive media coverage to engage with target audiences.
- Work collaboratively with the Marketing team to ensure that key messages are communicated in a clear, concise, and consistent tone.
Requirements
- At least 3 years' experience in a PR and communications-related role, with a demonstrable track record of developing and implementing successful PR and communication strategies.
- Exceptional interpersonal and influencing skills, with the ability to build rapport with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
- Demonstrable experience of visual content creation, commissioning, and managing photography and video shoots.
- Excellent copywriting, editing, and proofreading skills, with exemplary attention to detail.
- Outstanding organisational and prioritisation skills, with the ability to work to tight and competing deadlines.
