Job Title: Clinical Support Worker for Pulmonary Rehabilitation

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Clinical Support Worker to join our team in the Community Respiratory Service. As a Clinical Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting the delivery of Pulmonary Rehabilitation programs across South Lakes.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will work alongside a team of Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Nurses, and administrators to assist in the planning, organizing, and delivery of Pulmonary Rehabilitation assessments, groups, and final assessments. You will be responsible for supporting patients throughout their journey, including phoning patients, supporting them to complete health questionnaires, taking basic clinical observations, and conducting fitness testing under the supervision of a Physiotherapist.

Main Responsibilities
  • Support the delivery of Pulmonary Rehabilitation programs across South Lakes
  • Assist in the planning, organizing, and delivery of Pulmonary Rehabilitation assessments, groups, and final assessments
  • Support patients throughout their journey, including phoning patients, supporting them to complete health questionnaires, and taking basic clinical observations
  • Conduct fitness testing under the supervision of a Physiotherapist
  • Work in a compassionate, respectful, and professional manner with patients, their relatives, and carers, and staff, role modeling our Trust values and behaviors
  • Clean and maintain equipment, and comply with health and safety processes to ensure safe delivery of Pulmonary Rehabilitation for our patients
  • Write up clinical notes using EMIS web clinical records system
  • Enter clinical data into our Audit spreadsheet
  • Move and handle Pulmonary Rehabilitation equipment
  • Perform general clinical administration tasks as needed
Requirements
  • Level 3 Care Certificate or equivalent experience/training
  • EDL
  • Experience working in a team
  • Experience using Microsoft Office and other IT applications
  • Experience providing care/therapy to adults
  • Experience working as a healthcare or therapy assistant
  • Experience working within a community health or social care service

The Trust operates a No Smoking Policy. If the post is subject to Disclosure & Barring Service checking, a charge of £38 for Enhanced and £18 for Standard clearance will be made to the successful candidate(s). Anyone newly appointed to the trust under the Agenda For Change contract will be subject to the completion of a satisfactory 6 month probationary period.
