Management Accountant

St George's Weybridge is seeking an experienced Management Accountant to lead our Finance team. As a key member of our Finance Department, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day activities of the team, managing workload, and ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
Key Responsibilities:- Oversee the Finance team's workload and ensure timely completion of tasks
- Manage electronic archiving and control information on the Accounts drive
- Ensure staff work within Finance Policies and Procedures
- Act as the first point of contact for technical accounting matters
- Support the development of Finance team members through training and opportunities for growth
- Arrange personal development reviews and external training as needed
- Identify and implement initiatives to increase automation and technology use in finance processes
- Produce accurate and timely management accounts packs from Sage and present to the Director of Finance
- Support the Director of Finance in compiling the overall School budget for presentation to Governors
- Manage the process of preparing paperwork for audit inspections and ensure nominal accounts are reconciled
- Manage the fixed asset module and ensure depreciation is posted to Sage
- Support the Director of Finance in capex budgeting and ensure appropriate accounting treatment for fixed assets
- Oversee daily posting of bank transactions and ensure bank reconciliations are prepared
- Professional financial qualification (CIMA or ACCA)
- Previous experience in finance work in education, preferably in the independent sector
- Sage 200 Accounting program or similar
- Understanding of charitable accounting and legislation
- Understanding of GDPR and relevant financial legislation
- Experience in preparing and presenting management accounts to key stakeholders
- Understanding and appreciation of the Catholic school environment and the independent school sector
- Commitment to providing a quality service and high customer care
