Management Accountant

We are seeking an experienced Management Accountant to join our Finance Department. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for leading a team of four staff and influencing the role.
Key Responsibilities:- Oversee the day-to-day running and activities of the Finance team, managing workload and ensuring timely completion of tasks.
- Manage electronic archiving and control information on the Accounts drive.
- Ensure staff work within Finance Policies and Procedures as set by the Board of Governors.
- Act as the first point of contact for technical accounting matters.
- Support the development of staff careers through day-to-day support, training, and opportunities for development.
- Arrange personal development reviews and external training when necessary.
- Identify opportunities for driving efficiencies into existing processes.
- Produce accurate and timely management accounts packs from Sage and present to the Director of Finance.
- Support the Director of Finance in compiling the overall School budget.
- Manage the process of preparing paperwork for inspection by auditors.
- Manage the fixed asset module and ensure depreciation is posted to Sage.
- Support the Director of Finance in capex budgeting and capital bids process.
- Oversee daily posting of bank transactions and ensure correct recording in Sage 200.
- Professional financial qualification such as CIMA or ACCA.
- Previous experience in finance work in education, preferably in the independent sector.
- Sage 200 Accounting program or similar.
- Understanding of charitable accounting and legislation.
- Understanding of GDPR and relevant financial legislation.
- Full understanding of preparation, execution, and presentation of management accounts.
- Understanding and appreciation of the Catholic school environment.
- Commitment to providing a quality service and high level of customer care.
