Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Operations Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing financial support to our finance team, ensuring the smooth operation of our financial systems, and maintaining accurate financial records.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Finance Manager in the preparation of monthly management accounts and year-end financial reports.
  • Support in the maintenance of the fixed asset register and posting of monthly depreciation.
  • Help prepare and submit governmental returns, including VAT and payroll returns, on time.
  • Aid in the development and monitoring of the company's cash flow.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial forecasts and annual budget setting.
  • Support the Accounts Assistants and Apprentices in their daily and monthly tasks, ensuring efficiency and accuracy in:
    • Processing weekly timesheets, client invoicing, and candidate payments.
    • Performing bank and MER reconciliations.
    • Managing customer and supplier payments.
    • Handling customer cash collection and allocation.
    • To prepare and oversee the Company's internal and external payroll, ensuring effectiveness and efficiency while also ensuring compliance with all governmental guidance.
    • To ensure the finance department has adequate cover and suitable experience in all ongoing processes.
    • Supporting the development and documentation of finance processes.
    • To ensure the effectiveness, efficiency, and accuracy of the Company's financial systems.
    • To ensure tasks are completed to a high standard, following strict deadlines, while utilizing spreadsheets, word processing, and ERP or similar database systems.
    • To promote equality and diversity practices across the organization, working at all times in accordance with the AppLocum's commitment to Equality and Diversity.
    • To undertake all duties confidentially, in accordance with the Data Protection Law.
    • To participate in the AppLocum's staff development training, being proactive in your own personal and professional development, and to demonstrate a flexible approach to your duties.
    • To understand the Employee Duty and be familiar with and follow any policies and procedures laid down to ensure workplace and individual health and safety.
