Job DescriptionJob Duties:
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality music lessons to students, fostering a love for music and the arts
  • Develop and implement curriculum in line with national standards, ensuring a well-rounded education
  • Assess students' progress and provide constructive feedback, helping them grow and improve
  • Organise and supervise music-related extracurricular activities, promoting teamwork and creativity
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the overall music programme, sharing best practices and expertise
Required Qualifications:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Degree in Music or a related field, demonstrating a strong foundation in music theory and practice
Education:
  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Music or a relevant discipline, showcasing a deep understanding of music and the arts
Experience:
  • Previous experience teaching music in a school setting, with a proven track record of success
  • Strong knowledge of music theory and practical skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate students
Knowledge and Skills:
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with the capacity to work effectively with students, colleagues, and parents
  • Ability to motivate and inspire students, creating a positive and inclusive learning environment
  • Proficiency in playing musical instruments, with a passion for music and the arts
  • Understanding of current educational trends and best practices in music education, with a commitment to ongoing professional development
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Postgraduate qualification in Music Education, demonstrating advanced knowledge and expertise
  • Experience with exam boards such as ABRSM or Trinity, with a strong understanding of assessment and evaluation
Working Conditions:
  • Work primarily within a school environment, with regular working hours and occasional evening or weekend commitments

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
