Counter Terrorism Policing Governance Specialist

Counter Terrorism Policing is seeking a highly skilled Governance Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Compliance and Assurance team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the effective implementation of our security strategy and policies.
Your primary responsibility will be to provide assurance that our governance bodies are adhering to policies and procedures. You will work closely with regions across the Counter Terrorism Policing Network to establish local mechanisms for monitoring and maintaining compliance.
Key responsibilities include:
- Undertaking IT-related protective monitoring, security, and audit
- Assisting with establishing and maintaining Information Assurance, security, and development of national and local IT capability
- Creation of reports to support C&A functions/issues
- Assisting in the investigation of security incidents and of suspected IT-related system misconduct
- Assisting with the compilation and maintenance of accurate records regarding personnel, physical sites, and security incident status
- Providing business-driven advice on the management of security and information risk consistent with CTP and HMG IA Policy
- Providing independent impartial security assessments and reviews of proposed and live solutions including both physical builds and systems designs
- Influencing and providing advice upon the design, build, and deployment of solutions
- Managing ongoing accreditation between the service provider and business groups
- Implementing C&A initiatives across CT Policing
As a Governance Specialist, you will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects and initiatives, from implementing new security policies to conducting risk assessments and providing advice on security and information risk management.

- Strong understanding of Information Assurance and security principles
- Experience in IT-related protective monitoring, security, and audit
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
