About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to join our Counter Terrorism Policing North West team as a Planning Officer. The successful candidate will play a critical role in supporting the Investigations team in planning and coordinating responses to terrorist-related events in the North West region.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in planning and coordinating responses to terrorist-related events, including executive actions and North West-wide events.
  • Support Senior Investigating Officers in the coordination and planning of operational activity.
  • Provide logistical and operational support for the deployment of CTPNW resources.
  • Collaborate with outside agencies to assist in the production of plans for major events.
  • Advise on procedural matters relating to operations and within the National CT Network.
Requirements
  • Understanding of how to plan a policing operation, including effective briefing and command and control.
  • Awareness of policing within the wider context of social issues and public feeling regarding the police.
  • Knowledge of contingency plans and operational planning guidelines.
