Job Summary
Higgidy is seeking a highly skilled Food Compliance Manager to join our team. As a key member of our quality assurance department, you will be responsible for ensuring the business is fully compliant with all matters relating to food safety, quality, and legality.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with food safety and quality regulations.
- Manage and maintain all relevant reports, customer responses, and trending information around complaints, non-conformances, and corrective actions.
- Manage external certifications, including preparation, monitoring, and review of associated documentation, to satisfy customer requirements.
- Produce gap analysis summaries to ensure any relevant changes to customer codes of practice are raised.
- Encourage best practice within the team and in a wider capacity within the bakery environment.
- Actively engage others to ensure systems and procedures are relevant and fully understood.
- Help others to understand the reasons behind change and relate change to what matters most to them.
- Maintain a calm and professional approach, painting a picture of the future and explaining the steps needed to get there.
Requirements
- Experience working within a food manufacturing environment.
- An excellent standard of both verbal and written English.
- Proficient with using Microsoft office packages.
- Experience and understanding of third-party audit requirements, including BRCGS and major retailers.
- Experience and knowledge of HACCP level 3 (level 4 desirable).
- Level 3 Food Safety Qualification (Level 4 desirable).
- Understanding of customer and supplier management.
- Experience of interpreting or working with relevant legislation (labelling, food safety, etc).
- Auditing qualification/experience.
