About the Role: We are seeking an experienced Operations Director to oversee the day-to-day running of our business, ensuring seamless operations, growth, and exceptional service delivery.

As a privately owned business, they provide payroll solutions to a wide range of sectors, managing large volumes of contractors and clients across the UK.

Job Description: The Operations Director will work closely with the Managing Director (MD) and Financial Director (FD) to manage and optimise day-to-day operations, driving efficiency and performance across the business. Key responsibilities include overseeing key functions such as payroll delivery, client relationships, and operational processes. This is a challenging, high-impact role requiring a strategic mindset and experience managing large-scale operations with thousands of contractors.

  • Take ownership of day-to-day business operations, ensuring smooth and efficient service delivery across all departments.
  • Lead and manage operations teams, driving performance and ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Work closely with the MD and FD to implement business strategies, focusing on scaling the business and improving processes.
  • Oversee payroll processing, ensuring accuracy and compliance for large volumes of contractors (10,000+).
  • Develop and monitor KPIs, operational processes, and performance metrics to ensure business goals are met.
  • Act as a strategic partner to the MD and FD, providing insights and recommendations to support business growth and scalability.

  • Experience: Significant experience in the temporary labour market (ideally in a payroll company or recruitment agency), with a strong understanding of large-scale operations.
  • Leadership: Proven track record of leading and managing operations teams, ideally with exposure to handling large volumes of contractors (10,000+).
  • Skills: Excellent problem-solving, strategic planning, and decision-making abilities.
  • Operational Expertise: Deep understanding of payroll processes, compliance, and the intricacies of managing high volumes of contractors and clients.
  • Mindset: A results-oriented, proactive leader with the ability to drive change and improve business performance.
  • Location: Flexibility to work in a hybrid model, with two days a week in the London office near London Bridge.
