About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Hybrid Engineer to join our team at Alfa Laval UK&I. As a Hybrid Engineer, you will be responsible for the reconditioning of Heat Exchangers and components in our Camberley Service Centre. This will involve dismantling and reporting on the condition of Heat Exchangers, operating specialist machinery for cleaning, and manually reconditioning Heat Exchanger parts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Wash down of plates using jet pressure washers
  • Chemical cleaning of units
  • Use of Nitrogen tank for stripping gaskets
  • Use of acid and caustic tanks for chemical cleaning
  • Inspection of plates using fluorescent dye
  • Gluing and applying gaskets
  • Building and integrity testing of heat exchanger units
  • Interfacing with work procedures and time logging systems
  • Routine maintenance of workshop machinery, equipment, and chemicals
  • General workshop duties
  • Ensure quality and health and safety procedures are adhered to
  • Flexible and adaptable approach to manage multiple tasks to suit business demand

Field Service Element

As a Hybrid Engineer, you will also be responsible for field service work, focusing on Gasketed Plate Heat Exchangers in our customers' process operations. This will involve commissioning, servicing, and fault finding on new and existing thermal equipment, as well as performing site audits to ensure our equipment is performing to its optimum level.

Requirements

  • Working background in mechanical maintenance engineering
  • Experience with Plate Heat Exchangers is desirable, but not essential, as training will be provided
  • Full driving license is essential
