About the Job

We are seeking a skilled Hybrid Engineer to join our team at Alfa Laval UK&I. As a Hybrid Engineer, you will be responsible for working in our Service Centre and attending customer sites to complete proactive and reactive service and commissioning tasks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Reconditioning of Heat Exchangers and components in the Camberley Service Centre
  • Wash down of plates using jet pressure washers
  • Chemical cleaning of units
  • Use of Nitrogen tank for stripping gaskets
  • Use of acid and caustic tanks for chemical cleaning
  • Inspection of plates using fluorescent dye
  • Gluing and applying gaskets
  • Building and integrity testing of heat exchanger units
  • Interfacing with work procedures and time logging systems
  • Routine maintenance of workshop machinery, equipment, and chemicals
  • Ensure quality and health and safety procedures are adhered to
  • Flexible and adaptable approach to manage multiple tasks to suit business demand
Field Service Element

As a Hybrid Engineer, you will also be responsible for field service work, which will involve working on Gasketed Plate Heat Exchangers in our customer's process operations. This will require overnight stays and working across the UK, with the possibility of working offshore.

  • Commissioning, servicing, and fault finding on new and existing thermal equipment
  • Reading plate specification drawings to ensure correct assembly
  • Performing site audits to ensure our equipment is performing to its optimum level
  • Working with the sales team on equipment audits on customer sites to generate new business
  • Writing service reports on site and obtaining a signature from the customer
  • Conducting dynamic risk assessments prior to commencing work
  • Completing ALSOC learnings and assessments as assigned by the mentor
  • Reading, digesting, and following maintenance manuals and completing learning logs relative to your product exposure
  • Proactive recommendations to customers for the purchase of spares
  • Updating the service execution IT system with relevant information
  • Meeting KPIs for the service team
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a working background in mechanical maintenance engineering and experience with Plate Heat Exchangers is desirable, but not essential, as training will be provided. A full driving license is essential.
