About the Role

We are seeking a dynamic and motivated individual to join our Planning and Infrastructure Services team as an Apprentice Planning Officer. In this exciting role, you will work across three teams, assisting in the work of the Strategic Planning, Planning Applications and Developer Contributions team.

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for:

  • Working with different teams across the organisation to gain a comprehensive understanding of the County Council's role in planning.
  • Assisting in the co-ordination of responses to Local Plans, Strategic Planning Applications and other Consultations.
  • Preparing the Kent Minerals and Waste Local Plan and determining County Council Planning Applications.
  • Gaining an understanding of Developer Contributions in regard to individual planning applications.
  • Carrying out basic research, analysis and evaluation for different planning tasks.
  • Developing your skills in providing professional planning advice.
  • Providing administrative and technical support to the teams.

We are currently operating under a hybrid working structure, giving the flexibility for individuals to work from home and/or in one of our reconfigured office buildings.
