The Reporting Team Lead will work closely with the Reporting Accountant to ensure that budgets, forecasts, and monitoring of actuals against targets for all aspects of the Bauer Shared Service Centre are completed in a timely and accurate manner.

Our Team

The Accounting Team is part of the Bauer Shared Service Centre, providing expert in-house accounting services to the Bauer UK Business. The team ensures that our management accounts are produced timely and accurately, supporting the needs of the business and the requirements of our group head office in Hamburg.

This Role

  • Lead and be accountable for an effective and comprehensive process for the accounting team.
  • Relay the direction from the Reporting Manager Accounting and coordinate the Management accounting team to comply with statutory and German GAAP requirements, as well as base for the management reporting and other statistical reporting requirements.
  • Assist in leading the accounting team through change - new System, new organizational set-up.
  • Be a speaking partner to the transactional team and FP&A, but also for external partners such as auditors and tax advisors.
  • Assist in onboarding new companies and products into the new shared service organisation once they switch to S/4 Hana and integrate them into the team.
  • Make recommendations to the Reporting Manager Accounting on team set-up for Management accounting and identify opportunities to improve processes and workloads.
  • Work closely with the Reporting Manager Accounting to contribute actively to projects and the implementation of the Finance Target Operating Model.
  • Review and optimize the allocation of responsibilities in the team.

What You Will Bring

  • Knowledge of accounting through studying for an accounting qualification, or via experience.
  • Strong Excel skills and significant experience of using it.
  • The ability to manage a busy workload in a time-pressured environment, with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to use initiative, be adaptable, and a good team player. Experience of management accounting would be an advantage.
