Registered Nurse (RN) Infusion Therapy - Oncology Spotlight

Job Summary:

MaineHealth Accountable Care Organization is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team as an Infusion Therapy Registered Nurse in our Oncology department. As a key member of our care team, you will provide comprehensive nursing care to patients receiving chemotherapy and infusion/transfusion therapy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct nursing care to patients in accordance with the scope of practice as defined by the Maine State Board of Nursing.
  • Exercise independent judgment to assess patient needs, develop the plan of nursing actions in collaboration with the healthcare team, implement the plan, and evaluate the effects and outcome of the care provided.
  • Coordinate, assign, and oversee patient care duties delegated to registered nurses (RNs), licensed practical nurses (LPNs), and certified nurse aides (CNAs).
  • Collaborate with Medical and Nursing Staff, Support and Ancillary Services, Administration, Community Providers, patients, families, and caregivers to ensure seamless care delivery.

Requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy certificate required within 3 months of hire and must maintain.
  • Oncology Nurse Certification (OCN) preferred, or must obtain and maintain within 3 years of hire.
  • 3 years of experience in an acute clinical setting, with 1 year of Oncology experience preferred.
