We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Southwark to assist with the appointment of a Senior Social Worker, on a 3-month contract, highly likely to be extended at client's discretion.

Estimated Salary: £28.22 - £37.00 per hour

Job Overview:

As a Senior Social Worker, you will provide focused and purposeful systemically-informed social work within Southwark's practice framework, addressing complex situations, and developing trust with children and their families.

Responsibilities:

  • Establish professional relationships with children and their families, safeguarding them, resolving conflicts, and promoting positive outcomes.
  • Deliver social work practice informed by statutory guidance, best evidence, and research knowledge.
  • Provide guidance and support to less experienced colleagues, including taking the role of practice educator or assessor.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Detailed knowledge of childcare legislation, statutory guidance, and London Child Protection Procedures.
  • Understanding of child development, parenting capacity, environmental factors, and risk and protective factors.
  • Holding a recognised social work qualification and current registration as a Social Worker with Social Work England.
