Job Title: Technical Superintendent

A leading shipping company with a global presence is recruiting for a Technical Superintendent to join their team in London. This permanent role offers a competitive salary and a chance to work on Oil Tankers.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will plan, coordinate and supervise all scheduled and non-scheduled activities for normal maintenance, major maintenance, breakdown repairs, overhauls and modifications on the assigned vessels.

  • To plan detailed schedules and requirements based on the vessels dry-docking due dates and draft specifications based on the completion of repair request forms and following inspection onboard the vessel.
  • Scheduled and unscheduled maintenance repairs, including development of vessel budgets and operating expenditure.
  • Vessel inspection planning as required by Safety Management Systems (SMS).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring arrangements are in place for maintaining appropriate certification.
  • Endorsement of manning appointments on assigned vessels with Fleet Personnel.
  • Setting clear goals and expectations for Masters, Chief Engineers and direct reports ashore.
  • Promoting Health and Safety as Corporate Values, including implementation of Company objectives.

Requirements:

You will have previous experience as a Technical Superintendent (or in a similar capacity) handling Oil Tankers and an industry-related degree. Sailing experience as a Chief Engineer on-board Oil Tankers vessels is essential.

A strong team player with excellent commercial acumen and good communication skills is required. You must have the right to live and work in the UK to be considered.
