Job Title: Instrumentation and Control Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Instrumentation and Control Specialist to join our team at Westlakes Recruit in the Reading area. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in C&I design, commissioning, and integration.

The key responsibilities of this role include:
  1. Producing, reviewing, and updating system documentation for operator instructions, human machine interface, safety and environmental, control logic design, as well as periodic testing in compliance with engineering rules, methodologies, quality processes, and tools.
  2. Performing analysis for defining C&I Functional Requirements of the system and production of the C&I logic, particularly for Instrumentation and Control.
  3. Writing the Instrumentation and Control Functional Requirements.
  4. Specifying Detailed Functional Diagram (DFD; C&I logic diagram).
  5. Writing the Functional Test Procedure and running respective tests, and writing the system design manual part 5 (C&I logic description).
  6. Specifying human machine interface (alarms sheets, operating images, operating modes).


The successful candidate will have a degree in C&I, Electrical, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualification, with a minimum of 2-3 years' experience in Instrumentation and Control design. They should also have knowledge of the EPR C&I design principles and C&I platforms, experience of producing design documentation and Test Specifications, and ability to effectively manage own workload to produce high-quality documents and respect deadlines. An estimated salary for this role is around £65,000 per annum.
