We're looking for a skilled Wireless Communications Expert to join our team at Roke. As a Wireless Communications Expert, you will have the opportunity to work on diverse projects across various sectors, applying your skills to rapidly prototype new approaches and solutions. You will be part of a stimulating, collaborative, and driven team that offers autonomy, challenge, and a strong sense of purpose.
Your responsibilities will include providing systems engineering skills related to wireless military communication networks, specifically requirements analysis, design, simulation, and implementation. You will also provide technical support to customer meetings, apply and scale engineering processes effectively, identify and collaborate with all stakeholders, maintain awareness across the wireless military radio systems domain, and provide timely and accurate estimates for project deliverables and contribute to bids.
Essential Skills:
- Experience of simulating wireless communication networks
- Ability to conduct research into future military networking
- Knowledge of the military communication domain
- Understanding of wireless military communication and/or civil network architectures, protocols, and associated waveforms
Desirable Knowledge:
- An understanding of Software Defined and Agile Networking
- Understanding of the application of AI / ML to networking
- Experience of implementing wireless communication protocols
- Knowledge of other defence disciplines, such as Electronic Warfare, Signals Intelligence, Radar, or GNSS
- Proficient or interest in software development
- Knowledge of military network security architectures
- OpenCPI
