Cranswick Country Foods PLC is seeking a skilled Pig Farming Unit Supervisor to join their team in the Thetford/Brandon/Mundford area of Norfolk.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the staff on the unit and ensuring the condition of the livestock is maintained at a high standard.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing the staff on the unit
- Ensuring the condition of the livestock is maintained at a high standard
- Actively involved with all areas of the pig breeding unit to meet business requirements
- Managing the performance of the unit and liaising with managers to report targets and maintain commercial focus
- Feeding, moving and handling the pigs as well as stock counts and regular communication with the office and senior Managers
Requirements include:
- Own transport
- Flexibility, leading by example and supporting other colleagues/teams and management
- Reliability and good time keeping
- Animal Welfare prioritised at all times, ensuring company codes of Practice and policies are adhered to
- Previous practical experience with livestock and previous managerial experience desirable
