Special Educational Needs Teacher

A highly rewarding opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and compassionate Post 16 Teacher to join our vibrant SEN school in Lambeth. As a Special Educational Needs Teacher, you will be responsible for creating individualised learning plans that focus on developing the students' independence and understanding of being able to access the local community and life skills.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and Implement Personalised Lesson Plans: Design and deliver tailored lesson plans to cater to the unique needs of students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD).
- Foster a Positive Classroom Environment: Establish a supportive and inclusive classroom atmosphere, promoting social interaction and emotional well-being among students.
- Monitor Student Progress: Regularly assess and monitor student progress, adapting teaching approaches as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.
- Engage with Parents and Caregivers: Collaborate with parents and caregivers to support student development at home and in school, ensuring seamless transitions and effective communication.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS): Hold a recognized teaching qualification or equivalent experience.
- Strong Knowledge of ASD and SLD: Possess in-depth knowledge of Autism Spectrum Disorder and Severe Learning Difficulties, including their impact on students and appropriate strategies for support.
- Experience Working in SEN Education: Preferably hold experience working in special needs education settings, demonstrating ability to adapt to diverse learning environments.
- Excellent Communication Skills: Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills, enabling effective collaboration with colleagues, parents, and caregivers.
