Job Title: Acute Medicine Consultant

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Acute Medicine Consultant to join our dynamic team at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality medical care to older adults in our acute medical pathway, including the front door service on the emergency floor, in the medical outreach service, and on our specialist wards for older people.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing comprehensive clinical care to older adults with complex medical needs
  • Leading and contributing to the development of clinical services and pathways for older adults
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality care and improve patient outcomes
  • Participating in clinical teaching and training for medical staff and students
  • Contribution to quality improvement programs and clinical audit

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Experience as an NHS consultant (locum/acting up or substantive)
  • Comprehensive clinical experience in General Medicine and Geriatric Medicine
  • Experience of undergraduate teaching and postgraduate training
  • Evidence of leadership in the development of clinical services
  • Understanding of the principles and applications of clinical research
