Job Description

About the Role

The Hillingdon Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Midwife to fill the position of Practice Development Midwife. This is a key role within the Trust, responsible for supporting the development of midwives, maternity support workers, and maternity nurses.

Main Responsibilities

  • Provide expert clinical guidance and support to midwives and maternity staff
  • Develop and implement training programs to enhance midwifery skills and knowledge
  • Collaborate with the Director of Midwifery, Consultant Midwife, and Obstetric Team to identify training needs and develop solutions
  • Lead the coordination of mandatory maternity training and in-situ drills and skills
  • Assess the learning needs of preceptorship midwives, international midwives, return to practice midwives, and student midwives

Requirements

  • Registered practising midwife currently on NMC Register
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent level of experience working in a midwifery role
  • Evidence of continuing professional development
  • Mentorship or teaching accreditation: ENB 997 or equivalent, SSSA supervisor and assessor
  • Clinical teaching

Desirable Qualifications

  • NIPE trained
  • NLS trained
  • PROMPT trainer
  • Teaching qualification
