Learning Support Assistant

The Axcis Education Recruitment team is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to support students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in a college environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with students aged 16-19 and be able to provide individualized support to help them achieve their academic goals.

About the Role

This is a temporary position, and the successful candidate will be working in a college setting, supporting students with various mild SEND needs. The college offers a range of courses, including Agriculture, Horticulture, Dog Grooming, Animal Care, Saddlery, Floristry, Garden Design, and Conservation. The successful applicant will need to be comfortable working in an outdoor environment or with animals.

Key Responsibilities

• Providing individualized support to students with SEND needs
• Assisting students with their academic work and daily tasks
• Maintaining a safe and inclusive learning environment
• Collaborating with teaching staff to develop and implement support plans

Requirements

• Experience working with students with SEND needs
• Ability to work in a fast-paced college environment
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion
