Job Title: Electrical Design Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join our team at Assystem, a leading nuclear engineering company. As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will play a key role in supporting current operations and future programs, particularly in nuclear facilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and manage Infrastructure Design Substantiation documents to ensure compliance with safety and operational requirements.
  2. Manage design changes/concessions and present design substantiations to safety committees.
  3. Develop Examination, Inspection, Maintenance & Testing (EIMT) schedules and safety reports.
  4. Provide guidance to internal and external stakeholders and conduct Independent Technical Reviews.
  5. Apply engineering knowledge to design, develop, and maintain engineering processes and systems.
  6. Justify civil/structural design modifications in a high hazard industry.
  7. Review technical reports and safety case submissions.
Requirements:
  • Knowledge of design standards and practices.
  • Theoretical and practical skills in design stages.
  • Experience in assessing electrical equipment.
  • Specification skills for HV and LV networks.
  • Ability to justify design modifications.
  • Familiarity with industrial machinery.
  • Experience in multi-discipline projects.
Desirable Qualifications:
  • Experience in high-risk environments.
  • Familiarity with safety case development.
  • Knowledge of nuclear industry regulations.
  • Relevant degree or equivalent.
  • Chartered Engineer status.
  • Safety case related training.
